How Orvian works

A short reference for the core concepts.

Projects

Each handover you need to produce lives inside a Project. A project belongs to your tenant (your company or your personal account), has a name, a building owner, and a status.

Status flows one direction: Draft → Active → HandedOver. Once a project is handed over you can still read it and download the handover manifest, but it's locked from further transitions.

Articles

Articles are the things you need FDV documentation for: installation products with a code (EL-nummer, NRF-nummer, NOBB-nummer, EAN, or any manufacturer SKU). You paste or upload one line per article — order doesn't matter, and the parser picks up free-form lines like 4512780 dimmer 3 as well as classic CSV with commas, semicolons, or tabs.

Retrieval and the shared library

Orvian keeps every FDV document the system has seen in a cross-tenant shared library. When you click "Retrieve FDV candidates" on a project, the system walks every article that doesn't yet have a document:

  1. First it looks in the shared library for a matching code. If one exists, it attaches a copy to your project. Zero AI cost, trusted source.
  2. If nothing is in the library, it asks the AI to find a candidate.

As more contractors use Orvian, the library fills in and AI falls off.

Sensitivity and sharing

Each document has a sensitivity flag. Sensitive documents stay inside your tenant; non-sensitive documents appear in the shared library and other tenants can pull them.

  • Contractor company: new documents are shared by default.
  • Byggherre (consumer company): new documents are tenant-private by default.
  • Private tradesperson: new documents are tenant-private by default.
  • Admin: like Contractor.

You can flip a specific document's sensitivity from the project detail page.

The handover manifest

When you're ready to hand the project over to the building owner, click Download handover manifest. You get a Markdown file with the project info, the full article list, every attached document grouped by article, and a dedicated section listing any article that still has no FDV.
